Russian authorities are considering possibility of closing NATO Information Office in Moscow – newspaper

(Interfax – April 28, 2014) The Russian authorities are considering the possibility of closing the NATO Information Office in Moscow, Kommersant reported on Monday.

“It’s a probable response because we are not managing to find a common language with NATO in the current situation,” a source told Kommersant.

Sources close to the presidential administration told Kommersant no final decision on the matter has been made yet, but “it’s highly likely.” A source in the Russian Defense Ministry with knowledge on the matter has also confirmed this information.

However, a source in the NATO structures told Kommersant NATO has not received any official notifications on the closure of its Information Office in Moscow. Robert Pszczel, the current head of the NATO Information Office in Moscow, would not comment on the possibility of the office’s closure.
