(Interfax – MOSCOW, July 15, 2013) Former CIA officer Edward Snowden is well and does not need medical attendance, a source in the Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport services told Interfax.

“Passenger Snowden is well. He has not asked airport doctors for aid, which means he is well and does not have any health complaints. He did not ask for assistance from other medical services either although he had such an opportunity,” the source said.

Snowden has access to capsule hotel services, he added.

“He can take a shower or have a haircut but at his own expense. He has no such problems so far. He looks pretty tidy,” the source said.

Snowden fled to Hong Kong in May 2013 to leak information about secret online surveillance operations of U.S. security services. He moved to Moscow on June 23 and settled down in the transit zone of the Sheremetyevo Airport. After his U.S. passport was revoked it made it impossible for Snowden to board any flights.

The ex-agent met with Russian human rights defenders on July 12 to request their assistance in seeking refuge in Russia until Latin American countries provided documents necessary for his departure.
