(RIA Novosti – Denpasar, Indonesia, October 8, 2013) The Russian Federation is interested in recovery of the US economy and hopes that, being caused by a domestic political situation, the issue will be solved as soon as possible, Russian President Vladimir Putin has said, noting that this issue was not specifically discussed at the APEC summit. “This situation has not been specifically discussed. A US representative has told (us) his vision of events, first of all as applied to development of the world economy, without any link to the situation with the US budget. But you and I understand it perfectly well, everyone understands it, that the US economy is the largest economy of the world. And if it has a fever, it affects us all,” Putin said answering journalists’ questions after the APEC summit.

According to him, the US Federal Reserve’s policy on dollar and on amount of money directed to the US economy also had its effects. “Any movement (of the USA) has one or another effect on the world economy,” the Russian president said.

“It also has a little effect on us, but to a lesser degree than on other developing countries. And in general, we are interested in economy recovering as quickly as possible and showing sustainable growth, because we want to cooperate with the American partners,” Putin said.

In particular, he said actions of the US Federal Reserve were affecting outflow of money supply from the developing markets. “In general, the health of the world economy significantly depends on how the Americans feel. This is why we wish our American partners success. We hope that these domestic policy problems, and everything happening there has less to do with economy and more to do with domestic politics, will be overcome as soon as possible,” the Russian president said.
