KYIV. April 22 (Interfax) – The voter turnout in the second round of the Ukrainian presidential election on Sunday reached 61.37%, which is less than in the first round of March 31, Ukrainian Central Elections Commission (CEC) Chairperson Tetiana Slipachuk said.

“It turned out that the turnout in the second round was lower than on March 31. According to tentative estimations, 61.37% of the voters voted yesterday, against 62.8% three weeks ago,” Slipachuk wrote on Facebook.

As in the first round, voters were most active in the Lviv region (67.34%) and least active in Transcarpathia (46.38%), she said.

The voter turnout in the second round had increased at polling stations located outside Ukraine, Slipachuk said. “Unlike in the March 31 voting, when 12.62% of the Ukrainians included in the lists of used their right to vote, this indicator reached 13.33% yesterday,” she said.

A total of 73.17% of voters opted for Zelensky in the second round of the election, according to information obtained after processing 95.06% of the electronic protocols. Incumbent President Petro Poroshenko received 24.5% of the votes, the CEC said earlier.
