“The battalion has completed a field mission to the Kadamovsky training ground in the Rostov region and is returning to its home base in the Samara region,” the Defense Ministry’s press service told Interfax.

During the field mission, the commanders and personnel gained experience in performing combined marches to designated areas from their bases on foot and by rail with the subsequent deployment in unfamiliar terrain.

“The servicemen practiced skills of driving military and specialized motor vehicles in unfamiliar terrain, conducting reconnaissance operations and moving along the routes, as well as field engineering skills, methods of fortifying positions and special training tactics,” the Defense Ministry said.

The commanders “practiced methods of organizing various types of combat, controlling units and fire while fulfilling the tasks assigned, and learning to make creative and fast decisions.”

“During the final stages of training, the servicemen conducted a series of interoperability drills, as well as live firing exercises,” the Defense Ministry said.

The field mission also included training for military unit commanders and artillery crews.

“Following a month of intensive field training, the battalion will accomplish a combined march on foot before it reaches the railway, and will travel by rail back home to the Samara region,” it said.

The personnel have fulfilled the entire set of drills and will undergo final tests for the winter training period.
