MINSK. Oct 10 (Interfax) – The delay in the enforcement of the economic bloc of Ukraine’s association agreement with the EU makes it possible to adjust the provisions of the document whose implementation could considerably harm the economy of the Customs Union, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

“Kyiv and Brussels heeded our arguments and decided to postpone the enforcement of the economic bloc of the association agreement until December 31, 2015. It is now possible to adjust the provisions of the said agreement whose implementation could inflict considerable damage to the economy of the Customs Union and our traditional trade relations with Ukraine,” Putin said at the session of the Supreme Council of the Eurasian Economic Union.

Putin said that “the negotiations will be difficult.”

“We need to have solidarity to convince our partners to stop setting European integration in opposition to Eurasian integration and begin combining the two projects,” Putin said.
