MOSCOW. Nov 17 (Interfax) – Moscow is of the view that Barack Obama’s outgoing administration will be seeking a worsening of relations with Russia until its last day in office.

“There are also concerns that the White House will be consistently worsening the atmosphere of relations [with Russia] until its last day,” Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said at a news briefing in Moscow on Thursday.

“Certainly, we hope that coming to replace these destroyers, if not terminators of Russian-American relations, will be people taking a more careful approach toward bilateral ties and bilateral cooperation in all senses and aspects of this word,” she said.

“All attempts to press our country through informational pressure, through some attempts of its isolation and all kinds of embargoes and boycotts – this all has failed,” she said.
