Privatization of Russian companies is open for foreign investors, and Russia is interested in attracting new foreign partners, the Kremlin has said.

“Russia has always been interested in foreign investors; we value cooperation with those who continue to operate on the Russian market and we are interested in an inflow of fresh investments,” Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Feb. 2.

He replied, “definitely,” to the question whether or not privatization of Russian companies was open for foreign investors.

Peskov said, at the same time, that “various modalities are possible and they will be determined, the proportions of these modalities will be determined.”

No one, including speakers at the conference chaired by the president on Monday, has said that foreign investors should be barred from Russia, Peskov said. “No one has said so, and, in fact, this is absolutely impossible,” the press secretary said.

“Russia has been and remains a country open for foreign investments; Russia is interested in attracting new partners,” Peskov said.
