Interfax: Russia to set up appraisal center for WTO issues

(Interfax – January 29, 2014) Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has ordered to set up an autonomous non-profit organization, a center for appraisal of World Trade Organization issues, jointly with the National Research University Higher School of Economics and Sberbank (MOEX: SBER), the Russian government website reported on Wednesday.

“To establish jointly with the federal state autonomous institution of higher professional education National Research University “The Higher School of Economics” and the open joint stock company “Serbank of Russia” an autonomous non-profit organization “The Center for Appraisal of World Trade Organization Issues”,” says the order published on the government website.

The center will support Russia’s partaking in WTO activities and provide competent representation of Russia in international trade disputes at the WTO Dispute Settlement Body.

According to the order, the Russian Economic Development Ministry will be a co-founder of the new organization.
