MOSCOW. July 22 (Interfax) – The Russian Security Council Secretary, Nikolai Patrushev, has spoken of the need to draw conclusions from what is going on in Ukraine and heed the opinion of the Russian opposition.

“The events occurring in Ukraine – their role for us is this: we must draw the right conclusions from them,” Patrushev told journalists after a Security Council meeting on Tuesday.

He went on: “With regard to separatism. For the situation to be normal, you should listen to the people who express their thoughts and whom you like, but you should also listen to the people whom you don’t like and you should understand why they express these thoughts. Therefore, we must certainly listen to the views of the opposition in our country and take its opinion into account when making decisions, because they could be saying quite reasonable things.”
