MOSCOW. July 18 (Interfax) – Moscow does not see any sign of the U.S. authorities wanting to facilitate a negotiated solution of the Ukrainian crisis, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

“We are not feeling a U.S. desire to send signals to Kyiv in favor of a negotiated resolution,” he said in an interview with the Rossiya 24 television channel.

He also said he hopes the air crash will have a sobering effect on the advocates of a military resolution of the Ukrainian conflict.

“I believe that this disaster could still sober up those betting on the war and rejecting all political commitments and calls from Europe to be wise, and hoping for support from Washington,” he said.
