Interfax: Kyiv yet to guarantee security of ICRC workers in Donetsk airport

DONETSK. Feb 24 (Interfax) – A visit of International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) workers to the Donetsk airport is yet to be approved as Ukraine has not provided security guarantees, the Donbas militia said.

“The Red Cross filed an enquiry with the Ukrainian side this morning about security guarantees in the Donetsk airport for the period of retrieval of the bodies of Ukrainian servicemen. The Ukrainian side has not given an answer so far,” a representative of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) Defense Ministry told Interfax on Tuesday.

ICRC representatives said earlier they wanted to witness the clearing of debris in the Donetsk airport for which the militia and the Ukrainian army had been fighting for several months.
