KYIV. Oct 21 (Interfax) – The fighting subsided in Donetsk overnight but heavy gunfire was again reported from the Kirovsky and Kyivsky districts on Tuesday morning, says a report posted on the City Council website.

The Kyivsky district was shelled from 5 p.m. through 10:30 p.m. local time on Monday. A residential building was damaged and a fire started in the ninth mechanical workshop of the Tochmash plant which was hit by a shell.

Donetskgorgaz repairmen have confined the damage done to gas distribution grids by artillery shelling. A gas distribution grid was pierced by shell fragments on a street in the Kyivsky district and gas supply was suspended until the end of the hostilities.

However, public utility services are operating normally and repairs are being arranged.

Power supply has been restored to 70 residential buildings in the Gorky mine camp and homes in the Smolyanka neighborhood in the Kuibyshevsky district. DTEC Donetskoblenergo and PES-Energougol teams are repairing power lines damaged in the hostilities in the Petrovsky, Kyivsky and Kuibyshevsky districts.

Public transportation service is operating well.
