TBILISI. Nov 27 (Interfax) – A Georgian government delegation led by President Giorgi Margvelashvili will leave for Vilnius on Wednesday to take part in the Eastern Partnership summit, where the agreement on Georgia’s association with the European Union is expected to be initialed on November 28.

The agreement on Georgia’s association with the EU has 1,000 pages and clearly determines the future relations between Georgia and the EU, Georgian Foreign Minister Maya Pandzhikidze told reporters before leaving for Vilnius.

“The agreement which we are now initialing and which will be signed in September 2014 has three main parts: political, industry, and trade. Georgia has to do a lot in all these areas. For example, we will need to create and approve some 300 legislative acts to bring the Georgian legislation closer to EU standards,” Pandzhikidze said.

The signing of this agreement will give Georgia the chance to enter the EU free trade zone, she said.

Besides the association agreement, Georgia will also sign a document on the inclusion of Georgia in EU crisis management operations, Pandzhikidze said.

“The association agreement will be initialed in the morning of November 28 and will be signed by my deputy David Zalkaliani, who is the main negotiator with the EU,” she said.

Pandzhikidze said the visit to Vilnius will be the first foreign visit for President Giorgi Margvelashvili, adding that he will have dinner with the heads of EU countries and will have a number of bilateral meetings with the presidents of Lithuania, France, Poland, and other countries.
