Sberbank CEO Gref Joins Economic Ministry Public Council

(Moscow Times – themoscowtimes.com – December 3, 2013) Sberbank CEO German Gref has joined the Economic Development Ministry’s public council, returning to a ministry that he headed from 2000 to 2007.

The council’s membership, ratified by current Minister Alexei Ulyukayev, includes magnates Viktor Vekselberg and Alexei Mordashov as representatives of large-scale private enterprise.

The heads of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and business lobby group Opora Rossii will also participate, along with Andrei Nikitin, general director of the Agency of Strategic Initiatives, and Alexei Timofeyev, head of the National Association of Equity Investors.

Other members include Rosnano head Anatoly Chubais, Otkritie general director Ruben Aganbegyan, CEO of RVC Igor Agamirzyan, managing partner of Ernst and Young in Russia Alexander Ivlev and Alexander Voloshin, the chief of the Kremlin task force on creating a financial center in Moscow.

Vladimir Mau, rector of the Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration, will step up as director of the council.
