MOSCOW, November 14 (RIA Novosti) Russia’s telecoms watchdog, Roskomnadzor, has struck 21 entries off its “blacklist” in three days, the agency said in a statement on Wednesday.

The 21 links and IP-addresses included popular internet resources, whose blacklisting triggered public debate.

“This includes the Lurkmore.to resource, links to individual pages in the social networking site Vkontakte and also the rutracker.org site,” Roskomnadzor confirmed.

Entries are deleted from the register once the owners have dealt with the issues raised, the agency said.

For instance, Russian online library Librusec has been removed from the ‘blacklist’ after it deleted a page with a Russian translation of The Anarchist Cookbook, which contains instructions for the manufacture of explosives, rudimentary telecoms phreaking devices, narcotics and poisons.

The book has been banned in Russia as extremist literature.

The register of domain names, pages, and URLs that contain content that must not be disseminated within Russia has been up and running since November 1.

The primary stated goal of the register, zapret-info.gov.ru, is limiting public access to child porn, suicide guides and drug recipes.
