MOSCOW. Jan 11 (Interfax) – Fair business must be reliably protected by the state, including from unjustified checks, prosecutors must continue work in this direction, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

“Fair, honest, transparent business must be reliably protected by the state, including from unjustified checks and other pressure,” he said at a meeting on the occasion of the 295th anniversary of the Russian prosecution system on Wednesday.

“This sphere should continue to receive close attention,” the president said.

Over the past year prosecution officials detected 150,000 violations associated with the exercise of state and municipal control, Putin said.

Oversight of government entities remains a pressing task for prosecutors, he said.
