(Moscow News – moscownews.com – David Burghardt – March 7, 2014) A woman’s place is in the kitchen, according to a recent poll by the All-Russian Center for Public Opinion Research (VTsIOM) published on Friday.

According to the latest survey, 72 percent of Russians believe a woman should choose the home and family over her career.

“When there’s a choice between a career and family, a woman should give her preference to the home and family, and work should be placed on the back burner, according to 72 percent of Russians,” the pollster reported.

Only 20 percent of those polled said they would suggest their wife or girlfriend spend more time on her career than on the family.

In the breakdown of the statistics, the patriarch view is most often met among villagers (76 percent) and the elderly (77 percent); whereas residents from Moscow and St. Petersburg hold a smaller belief (62 percent).
