Control and oversight activity in Russia in its current form is not effective enough, and is corrupt and unmanageable, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said on Wednesday.

“It is clear that control and oversight activity in the form it currently exists causes very much criticism, and is considered to have many shortcomings,” Medvedev said at a presidium meeting of the presidential council on strategic development and priority projects.

“It is clear that it is not effective enough for companies and people who come across it, often corrupted and aggressive against business, and probably on the whole too unmanageable for the state,” the Prime Minister said.
