“… Putin’s approval rating has hit a five-year low of 67 per cent, the latest survey by independent pollster Levada Centre suggests [published July 31]. The last time the Russian leader’s rating was below 70 per cent was in July 2013 [when it hit] 65 per cent …. Putin’s approval rating dropped 12 percentage points since … May. … Medvedev’s approval rating has also fallen in the latest poll … [at] 31 per cent … down from 42 in April. The government’s rating … dropp[ed] from 47 in April to 37 per cent.”

The findings were published July 31, based on fieldwork from July 19-25, polling 1,600 people in 52 regions, with a margin of error of 3.4 per cent or less.
