Program Director

The Center on Global Interests (CGI) is seeking a Program Director to lead the development and
implementation of its research programs. Our active programs focus on global governance in the 21st
century, U.S.-Russia bilateral relations, and the evolving role of post-Soviet states in international
affairs. The Director will work to advance CGI as an organization, refine its strategic vision, and align
activities with CGI’s goals.

Founded in 2012, the Center on Global Interests is a private, not-for-profit research institution
headquartered in Washington, D.C. CGI aims to promote new thinking on global affairs, provide
innovative analysis of relations between world powers, and critically evaluate current global
challenges.

Responsibilities

· Develop and oversee CGI’s research programs and publication projects
· Advance and expand young organization, provide strategic direction on long-term projects
· Recruit outside experts to collaborate with CGI on research and publications
· Initiate and plan public and private events associated with CGI’s activities
· Develop and maintain relationships with relevant domestic and foreign policymakers,
businesspeople, academic experts, and media
· Contribute original research and analysis on foreign relations
· Plan and manage project budgets
· Manage and evaluate work of expert task forces and CGI staff

Qualifications

· PhD in Politics, International Affairs, History, or related field required
· Russian language proficiency required
· Creative, strategic thinker with demonstrated leadership experience
· Professional experience in non-profit program management
· Demonstrated interest in international affairs, particularly Russia and the former Soviet Union
· Exceptional writing skills
· Highly organized and able to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment
· Experience in financial management
· Excellent interpersonal skills, comfortable working with high-profile individuals
· Authorized to work in the U.S.
