GORKI. Sept 9 (Interfax) – The state will continue to provide support to Russian business amid the Western sanctions, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said during a meeting with NOVATEK (MOEX: NVTK) CEO Leonid Mikhelson.

“You can have no doubt that in the face of such unfair actions the state has always supported and will support Russian business,” Medvedev said.

“The matter is not [about] company name and not [about] for what reasons it got on the sanctions list. Defending Russian business, if it runs into unfair and illegitimate actions by foreign countries and foreign companies, is just the obligation of the state,” he said.

Introducing sanctions against Russia “is definite violation of international law based on nothing,” Medvedev said.
