ROSTOV-ON-DON. Aug 15 (Interfax) – Officials of the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry who are accompanying Russia’s humanitarian aid convoy and the Ukrainian authorities are discussing ways to transfer the cargo intended for people in eastern Ukraine, a source familiar with the situation told reporters on Friday.

“At the moment, the main questions surrounding the transfer of this humanitarian aid depend on the Ukrainian side’s position. Our side is ready to provide all documents and other information concerning the cargo,” the source said.

After all these issues are sorted out with Ukrainian officials, the aid will be handed over to representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross who may act as mediators in these efforts, he said.
