PSKOV. May 30 (Interfax) – Moscow is concerned with the fact that the new period of contacts with the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump has still not triggered any positive change in bilateral relations, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said.

“The new period of contacts and interaction with the Trump Administration has not yielded any noticeable change for the better, and that somewhat worries us,” Ryabkov said at the Fort Ross Dialogue forum in Pskov.

Moscow is ready to cover its part of the path for improving bilateral relations, he said.

“We understand that the new administration has been updating foreign policy priorities in an extremely complex atmosphere and under strong pressure from opponents. The attempts of certain forces to use the Russian factor in the foreign political context are particularly worrisome,” Ryabkov said.

“This is an alarming aspect and, regrettably, we have not yet been rid of it,” he said.
