GORKI, Moscow region. Oct 29 (Interfax) – Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has spoken positively of Russia’s progress in the 2013 Ease of Doing Business survey compiled by the World Bank and the International Finance Corporation.

“Absolutely, this movement upwards in the Doing Business rating is a pleasing result for our economy. I hope that this result has been achieved by joint efforts made by the state and businesses to promote our country’s position,” Medvedev said at a State Duma session on Tuesday.

The latest Ease of Doing Business rating was published on Tuesday, he said.

“And even bearing in mind our dispassionate attitude toward different ratings, we nevertheless are guided by existing trends,” the prime minister said.

“I hope that it will mean actual changes in our state’s business climate, not only changes in the ratings,” he said.

Russia made considerable progress in 2013 toward bolstering its business climate, climbing 20 positions to 92nd place in the annual Ease of Doing Business survey compiled by the World Bank and the International Finance Corporation.
