The draft of a new Ukraine peace agreement that is expected to be discussed at the planned Ukraine contact group meeting in Minsk on 10 February will be based on the “current” separation line between the Ukrainian forces and east Ukrainian separatists rather than on the one stipulated in the peace deal adopted in September 2014, a source in the group organizing the talks has told privately-owned Russian news agency Interfax.

“It is thought that the parties will discuss a draft of the final document [peace deal] based on the provisions of the [Minsk] September Memorandum, with a major difference that it will be based on the current separation line,” the source said.

“The plan also stipulates setting up a demilitarized zone along the separation line,” the source said.
