Interfax: Death toll from winter Maidan riots reaches 105

KYIV. April 9 (Interfax) – A person who took part in the winter protests in Kyiv’s Independence Square (Maidan) was hospitalized and died in the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian Health Ministry press service reported on Wednesday.

“As of 6:00 a.m. on April 9, 2014, 11 people sought medical assistance in the past 24 hours. Six of those people were hospitalized and one person died,” the ministry reported.

A total of 1,737 people hurt in the clashes in central Kyiv have sought emergency medical assistance since February 18. Of these people, 1,155 were hospitalized.

Ninety-eight people are now receiving treatment in Kyiv’s healthcare establishments.

The Ukrainian Health Ministry earlier reported that 104 people hurt in the protests had died.
