Putin's high rating confirmed by polls
MOSCOW. Nov 18 (Interfax) - President Vladimir Putin is Russia's most trusted politician and enjoys a favorable appraisal of his activities, according to a poll conducted by the Public Opinion Foundation.
Eighty-four percent of respondents approve of Putin's activities as president and 11% disapprove.
Every second person (49%) said that he trusts Putin, 17% said they didn't and 30% said they trusted him to a certain extent.
The ratings for other Russian politicians were considerably lower. Liberal Democratic Party leader, Vladimir Zhirinovsky, is supported by 9% of those polled, followed by Emergency Situations Minister Sergei Shoigu with 7%, Communist Party leader Gennady Zyuganov with 6%, Rodina leader Dmitry Rogozin with 3% and Yabloko Leader Grigory Yavlinsky with 2%.
The poll was conducted among 3,000 respondents on November 12-13 in 63 regions.
According to a poll by the Yuri Levada analytical center, 76% of 1,600 respondents approved of Putin's presidency. The share of Putin's supporters has grown by 5% over the last month and the number of his opponents fell from 26% to 23%.
The poll was conducted on November 11-14 in 46 regions.
